bernhard hacksteiner started playing drums in the age of eight on a practice map and the book of buddy rich, he played his first five shell set back in 1988.in the age of 14 he left music school and practiced about 6 hours a day. he also went to workshops for inspiration:” terry bozzio, charly fischer, gene jackson, rodney holmes, marco minnemann, mike portnoy, franz hackl’s outreach,
at outreach bernhard played in a trio with roland heinz, adam holzman the bandleader of the miles davis band.
in 2003 he named his first nu_jazz band ‘wattens_akut’ with members like :’ florian bramböck, walter singer, stefan preyer, martin nitsch, gerald rumpold, josef unterberger, roland heinz.
bernhard is now living in vienna, austria as a musician and teacher.
